Atlanta, Georgia – June 22, 2017 Today, Atlanta City Council District 4 candidate Jason Dozier earned the endorsement from the Atlanta Professional Firefighters Local 134, a division of the International Association of Fire Fighters.
“Today we enthusiastically endorse Jason Dozier for Atlanta City Council, District 4,” said Paul Gerdis, President of the Atlanta Local 134. “As an Atlanta native, a six year Army veteran who’s served in both the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, and a team member at Hire Heroes USA working to place veterans in the workforce, we are excited to work with Mr. Dozier on City Council. We have all of the confidence in the world that he’s going to bring much-needed transparency, dedicate himself to public safety issues and fight for more affordable housing for the hard-working families and small business owners of Atlanta.”
“Thank you so much to the firefighters and to Local 134 for your support,” said Dozier, a Mechanicsville homeowner and community activist. “We’re going to fight to make sure that we’re going to build the morale and the trust of our public safety officials. Our fire fighters have taken care of me personally, and I want to make sure that City Hall is looking out for them.”
Jason served as a reconnaissance officer in the United States Army for six years, where he earned the Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal resulting from his service in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Jason is a proud combat veteran who remains active in several veterans groups, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Veterans for American Ideals. Jason also works as a director at Hire Heroes USA, a non-profit empowering veterans and military spouses to find employment after transitioning from their time in service.
